Common Customer Questions

1) When will I receive my order?

All orders take 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process ( Not including weekends & holidays) . Once order has been fulfilled customer will receive tracking number to phone # and email if provided once order has shipped from our facility. The exact delivery depends on the post office. Please expect delays due to the holiday season and staff shortages.

2) Are there exchanges on clothing items?

PLEASE ATTACH A NOTE INSIDE YOUR RETURN WITH YOUR NAME AND WHAT THE ISSUE IS TO EXPEDITE THE RETURNS PROCESS. THANKS!

We do allow returns/exchanges on clothing items that are not final sale items.

In the case that you need to return or exchange a regular priced item, we offer merchandise exchange or store credit only, no refunds. Items should be returned unworn, unwashed and undamaged, no makeup stains, no odors.

We do not accept returns on wigs, wig care products, barrettes, jewelry, or final sale items.

ALL SALE OR SPECIAL PRICED ITEMS ITEMS ARE FINAL SALE.

Please do not return any sale items.

3) I didn't get my wig, the order says delivered. What can I do?

If an order is scanned as delivered to your address by the post office and you DID NOT choose to pay for Route Protection at checkout, Gretchen's Beauty Boutque is not responsible for lost or stolen packages after being scanned delivered. You will have to contact your local post office or carrier. Also, please make sure to enter your correct shipping address at checkout. We are not responsible if the customer enters an incorrect mailing address.

4) I changed my mind and don't want the wig, what can I do?

After an order is placed it cannot be cancelled even if the order has not shipped.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!

Please make sure that you want the item that you are purchasing before you check out.

We do not honor any exchanges or returns on any wig or wig products.

No exceptions.

5) Can you dye or color treat the wigs?

None of our products can be dyed or color treated. Please advise that doing so could ruin your wig product.

6) Can I apply heat on them? Yes, you can put heat on them. I would not recommend going over 350 degree.

7) What do I do with the lace? Take scissors and cut the lace in front of the hairline where the knotting starts ( don't cut into the hairline). If a few hairs fall out it won't ruin the wig.

8) My wig keeps sliding back and not staying on what can I do? I would make sure the straps are tightened or loosened to fit your head comfortable or investing in a wig grip. Wig grips are available on the site!

9) Are the wigs human hair or synthetic? All wigs are synthetic fibers

10) What is the difference between the simple line and lavish line? The simple line are machine made wigs, where as the lavish line are monofilaments which is a more luxury/realistic wig. Each monofilament takes 7-12 days to make one.

11) How long will a synthetic wig last?

Most manufacturers suggest that a heat friendly synthetic wig will last 3-4 months with regular wear and proper care, and a traditional synthetic wig will last 3-6 months with regular wear and proper care.

There are many variables that contribute to the amount of time a synthetic or high heat synthetic wig or topper will last for an individual client.

Your daily activities will play a role in the longevity of your wig. If you are wearing your piece daily and working in an office environment, your experience will likely be different than a client who is working at a construction site, or someone who is a professional dancer or gymnast. If you are in an environment in which your scalp is sweating more often, you will likely be washing your wig more often to keep it clean, which can contribute to the break down of the synthetic fibers. In addition, the additional movement (from outdoor elements such as wind or exercise) can cause friction that can contribute to the break down of the synthetic (or high heat synthetic) fibers.

The length of your piece also plays a role in the longevity of your wig or topper. A shorter style that is above the shoulder will likely last longer than a longer style because it is shorter and not subject to any rubbing on the shoulders or back that can contribute to the break down of the synthetic or high heat synthetic fibers.

Properly caring for and storing your synthetic or high heat synthetic wig or topper will also prolong the life of your piece.

12) Why was my credit card charged if my item is on backorder?

Once an order is placed on our website, payment is automatically charged to the original form of payment provided by the customer. We then process the order with the manufacturer, and the item ships direct from their warehouse.

In some cases, we may receive word back that an item is out of stock. If this situation arises, we will reach out to you to let you know an estimated shipping date for the item ordered via email. We communicate this to our clients within 2 to 3 business days of receipt of their order. To ensure you receive order communications from us, please add gretchensbeautyboutique@gmail.com to your email address book.

In some cases, the waiting period for an out-of-stock item may only be a week or two. In other cases, for more popular items, the waiting period may be longer. By accepting payment at the time of order placement, we are able to secure the popular styles and colors that are not available for immediate shipping for our clients. Payment reserves the style/color for them and ensures their piece will ship before the item sells out again.

At Gretchen's Beauty Boutique, we want to provide options to our clients. So, if an item is out of stock, we provide an estimated shipping date, along with a few alternate similar colors/styles for you in the event that you are unable to wait for the original item ordered to be shipped out. In addition, we also offer the option to cancel the order and provide a full refund immediately to you.

We do not store credit card information for our customers. All orders are charged to the method of payment entered at checkout. If the item ordered is on backorder and not available for immediate shipping, we will always process a full refund if you prefer not to wait or consider an alternate color/style.

13) How do I wash and Style my Synthetic wig?

Before washing your wig or hairpiece, gently remove any tangles using a Wide Tooth Comb.
Wet hair completely using cool running water.
Gently lather the hair with a small amount of shampoo specifically formulated for synthetic hair, making sure that the hair is traveling in the same direction. DO NOT rub hair as this may cause tangling.
Rinse hair thoroughly under cool running water until water runs clear.
Wrap wig or hairpiece in a towel and gently pat dry.
Depending on products used, you may repeat the steps above with conditioner specifically formulated for synthetic hair.
If you prefer to use a leave in conditioner, spray 3-5 pumps of the leave-in-conditioner, keeping away from base of wig or hairpiece.
Gently detangle hair using your Wide Tooth Comb.

DRY & STYLE

Allow wig or hairpiece to air dry naturally by placing on a plastic or wire wig stand. DO NOT blow dry synthetic hair.
For mid-length to longer length styles, we recommend applying some HD Smooth Detangling Spray, (3-5 pumps) focusing on bottom half of wig or hairpiece. Gently comb through using your Wide Tooth Comb.
We recommend using your fingertips or wig brush/comb for your desired style.
To add texture and definition, use a small amount of styling creme or spray.
Do not use heat to style synthetic fibers (curling irons, flat irons or blow dryers), as it will damage the hair fibers.

TIPS

Be cautious when standing near a heat source (i.e. open oven, heater, dryer, etc.) Excessive heat can damage synthetic fibers.
We recommend using a Detangling Spray, along with a with a wide tooth comb to detangle your synthetic wig. This is especially important with a mid-length to long length wig or hairpiece.
